Team Updates From Nick

Socks: Scott ordered some DeFeet socks that match the race kit.  If you are on the race team, you get 2 pair for free.  Additional pairs are available for $8 each.  Just catch Steve Sams at one of the remaining races.

October events: There are some good events coming up in October if you are interested.  It would be cool to get a group of us together to do one or two of them… let me know if there is any interest in any of these or start up a FB discussion:

  • Fall Clothing order: We are working on a club kit (will replace the Voler/Verge blue club kit) and we will have something to show soon.  The design will be similar to the race kit, so clothing can be interchangeable (less lime on the club kit).  In addition, we will design some colder weather gear that will go with either kit.  Take a look at the cold weather line (http://hincapiecustom.com/product-category/element/) on the Hincapie Website and let me know what interests you.  Ordering 10 or more of an item will get us a significant discount.  Some notes from the Hincapie Rep:
  • a.       Jackets: “Event” is the thickest, then “Polar”, then “Windtex”
  • b.       Bib Knickers/tights: they are thicker than the velocity bib shorts, similar thickness to the Roubaix vest that some of us ordered last spring
  • c.       Vests: “Polar” is the thickest, then “Roubaix”, then “Windex” – we ordered Roubaix and Windtex last spring.

A Clothing Note

Nick is working on obtaining a sizing kit for the Hincapie cold weather items.  He will also try to have a sizing kit available for shorts, bibs and jerseys for those folks who have not yet purchased any Hincapie items.  More info will be posted when these kits are available for sizing.

Return 2015 Trophies

If you are the holder of one of the Club's annual rotating trophies, then please make arrangements to return them to either Steve or ScottPlease have the trophies returned by Thursday, October 15th.   You can simply leave the trophies on Steve's front porch, if he is not home.

Cycle Werks CX Races

Cycle Werks will host three Saturday CX races this fall.  The first event will be held on Jon's property on the October 29.  The other two races will be held in the Blue Creek Quary/sledding hill in Whitehouse (where the Club has held previous CX races) on November 19 and December 3. Each of the events will be held under a USAC permit, and each will have a separate USAC sanctioned A race and B race.  Additionally, each event will have a non-sanctioned beginners race for those who have never before experienced CX racing and who do not hold a USAC license.

Prizes will be awarded, and an overall series winner will also be crowned.  Additional info can be found on Cycle Werk's Facebook page, as well as the Club's Facebook page.
